Forever North came for another visit last weekend, and poof, he's gone again. I believe it can be scientifically proven that time passes faster when your significant other is visiting from out of town.

It was four amazing days of going out with friends, eating amazing food and generally having the time of our lives. Too bad you can't bottle that and sell it as a shampoo or something.

Saturday was late lunch at Centro on Granville with 7 very cool other people, including my friend and her boyfriend who were visiting from Calgary. Later that evening we were supposed to go to The Roxy, since my friend's boyfriend had gotten us on the guest list. Unfortunately, the guest list was good only until 8:30 pm, and the subsequent line-up was the longest in the nightclub's history. Word. So most people went back to their respective homes/hotel rooms and flaked out for the night. When FN finally arrived, my friend and her boyfriend joined us for a snack/late dinner at Earl's on Robson. On the way back from Earl's we encountered a young woman with a cane who asked us for spare change. As we were giving her ours, two drunk 20-somethings sauntered up and said, "She'd do anything for a buck, HARDEE HAR HAR.". I stood there and gave them an icy glare, waiting for one of them to give me a reason to break my foot off in his ass. The woman walked off quickly, and thankfully the drunks didn't try anything.

Sunday we met up with everyone on Granville Island and went back the hotel. FN and I sat in O'Doul's on Robson and snacked on the most amazing tapas and beer ever while we waited for everyone to arrive. If you're in the mood for really great tapas (albeit pricey), O'Doul's has the most amazing Tofino smoked salmon served with spinach with a raspberry vinagrette or in a smoked salmon platter. Pure heaven.

From O'Doul's we went to Fogg n' Sudds across the street and enjoy their beer and food. If you have a hard time deciding on one beer, they'll give you three small glasses with three different kinds of beer for the price of one, which one person took advantage of. After that we all walked down to English Bay, stopping momentarily at Sugar Mountain because I really needed to buy sushi and tv dinner magnets and wacky candy. At English Bay, my friend's boyfriend was unceremoniously beaned in the head with a frisbee. Apparently the individuals who were playing were too mesmerized with the game to shout "head's up" before the frisbee made it's way to his head. After English Bay we went back to O'Doul's to partake in more delicious food and drink.

On Monday FN and I met up with my friend and her boyfriend for lunch at Fogg n' Sudds again before taking them to the airport for their flight. A Canton chicken bowl followed by a shared brownie ice cream dessert made for really good eatin'. I can't really remember what we did for the rest of Monday after we went to the airport. I'm pretty sure it involved a good bit of sleeping, though, because we were both really bushed.

On Tuesday, FN and I did a bit of shopping, went for a ridiculously long drive, had some home-cooked food at my dad's, toyed with the computer, helped my step-brother take his bottles to the bottle depot, went and had some sashimi at a Hanada's on Denman, and had the most AWESOME crepes at La Belle Epoque on Cambie.

Phew, that was a lot.

Okay, can I get an "AAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHH"?

I just saw the season finale of Friends. Ross and Rachel make me want to scream and tear my hair out and run out of the room crying. They've tormented my young life for the last 8 years. Yes, ever since they broke up, I've been praying that they'd get back together. Why? I don't know. I love them together. Monica and Chandler are great, but I miss Ross and Rachel as a couple.

I would like to also point out that my emotional investment is DESPITE the fact that I do not have cable, and I have not had cable in 3 years. I'm hoping this partially exempts me from being a total loser.

Please, PLEASE let next year be the year that I am no longer tormented, and Ross and Rachel get together.

"The Force is strong in my loins."

Toniiiiiight . . . TONIIIIIIGHT . . .

The Kids In The Hall!!!!!

Yeeeeeah yeeeeeah!

--------------------------------------

UPDATE:

The Kids In The Hall rocked way hard. Stand-out moments include "Dr. Seuss Bible", "Chicken Lady" and "Running Faggot". Can you tell I'm writing this update a week after the performance and can't remember precise details?

5.10.2002

And then, suddenly, like a bolt of lightening, it hits me.

I can't miss seeing The Kids In the Hall . . . I have to see the new stuff that I saw in the whole backstage thing I saw, "Same Guys, New Dresses"!

Missing the Robot Dog would just be, well, wrong.

And when I end up eating dirt for two weeks, I'll sure be glad that my priorities were in order.

I'm torn. The Kids In The Hall are performing in Vancouver on Sunday and Monday. I may never have the chance to see them again. It would cost a ball-busting $67 to go see them.

Do I savour the memories of seeing them oh-so-many years ago on tour when they were still doing their show in Toronto, or do I shell out the money and go see them? I don't know. Part of me says I should go, and part of me says that for $67, I could have a hell of a good time several days in a row doing any number of things.

Maybe my old, burning lust for Dave Foley will win out and override my penny-pinching side. Who knows.

I watched ER for the first time in over a year, only to watch Dr. Mark Greene die.

I hate that shows I hardly watch are able to make me cry about characters I've hardly given a second thought to. I'm watching the show, and I'm all, "No Mark, don't die!" and "Dammit Rachel, your father is dying! Lose the chip on your shoulder! Stop taking drugs!".

Damn them and their compelling television production.

Thank you, though, to Will & Grace and Friends for giving me the opportunity to laugh outloud like I haven't in a long time. That just barely compensates for having my heart smashed into little pieces by ER.

Well, if I had $80 to toss around, I could try dragon boat racing. That will have to wait until I have a job, though.

Apparently May is Asian Heritage Month, and those in Vancouver can partake in the celebrations via ExplorASIAN. There are lots of activities that I'd probably love to partake in, but I can't make heads or tails of the website.

I guess I'll just have to read The Georgia Straight more carefully.

Just like that, Forever North arrived on Thursday evening. And just like that, he's gone.

~sigh~

5.02.2002

Okay, I scanned them. Some of them are great. Others are shit. I really, really need to buy a new camera.

My nephew, Sharif. What a doll!

This is why I love it here.

Forever North, the hunky dude.

I developed my film, only to discover that they are all slightly out of focus, and kinda suck. I'm rather disappointed. I'm going to try and scan them anyway, however, since there is the possibility that they won't look as bad on a computer monitor.

Scenes from a Dairy Queen:

A guy stumbles in, drunk, possibly high, and very likely mentally ill. He proclaims, in some English accent, that he is a murderer, and that he is going to kill/fuck my/your/that other guy's mother. The young staff of the Dairy Queen politely ask him to leave. He then responds that, as he mentioned previously, he is a murderer, and that they shouldn't be talking to him like that.

The girl behind the counter then retrieves her male co-worker from the back to try and get rid of him. The guy leaves, and goes to shout things at people on the street. He returns moments later, saying that the staff (who happen to be of Asian decent) should get back on the boat, and that he is going to fuck their mother. He stares down the guy from the back, who is of similar height but of very sleight build. I watch closely to see if someone will need to jump in and get rid of the crazy guy.

Somehow the guy comes to the conclusion that he needs to go back outside, which gives the staff a chance to lock the door. The crazy guy comes back to find the door locked, and decides to visit the fine folks across the street at McDonald's.

And all that for only the cost of some ice cream.

I am continually stunned at the number of hits I get even when I'm not updating my site. April was probably the least updated month in Limeworld's history, and we almost cracked 1000 hits. Okay, that doesn't sound like much, but for me, that's huge.

A quick note for all those people who are looking for stuff on bukkake parties: you've taken a seriously wrong turn. I think you're much more likely to find what you're looking for here. You're also in the wrong place if you are searching for dog breeders, but are cursed with a spelling malady that forces you to spell it breaders. Unless you are planning on eating the dog you eventually purchase, breeder is more likely to lead you to where you want to go. And no, I don't know where you can buy a ________ dog.
