To the people who keep finding my site when searching for dog breaders:

They're dog breeders, not breaders. You breed a dog, you do not bread a dog. If you're breading a dog, it probably belongs on a stick and slathered in ketchup, in which case it won't come when you call and people will probably eat it when your back is turned. That's a recipe for heartache . . . or heartburn . . .

Dear Fuckhead-at-work,

Thank you for being a complete flaming moron and totally screwing up things for everybody. Your meddling and general incompetence continue to be constant obstacles and sources of frustration. I would like to request a meeting with you so that I might punch you in the head. Please let me know when you would be available for this.

Sincerely,

Limegirl

Good lord.

The message boards for The Sims Online beta test are a complete shit storm. I have never heard so many people bitch, whine and complain about something that is still in the testing phase.

This game is not yet for sale, and we as beta testers are here to help Maxis work out the bugs. What part of that was unclear when these people signed up for it?

If the game goes live, and you're still having massive problems, by all means, your $10/month have earned you the right to give Maxis both barrels. But until then, what the hell is all the screaming about?

Seriously, is free not free enough???

Prince Takamado has passed away at the young age of 47.

Takamado no Miya was playing squash at the Canadian Embassy when he collapsed. He passed away in hospital from heart failure at 10:42 pm.

I met Prince and Princess Takamado in 1999 when I helped organize a conference which they attended. They were very warm and unassuming people who had a knack for making everyone feel like an old friend.

He attended university in Canada, and often referred to Canada as his second homeland. He had a fondness for native culture and art, and had a collection in his home in Japan. He was the patron of the Canada-Japan society.

He leaves behind his wife, Princess Takamado, and their three daughters.

The Blue Rodeo concert was amazing.

Not only does hearing their old material give me shivers of joy, but their new material is truly stellar. They had a full band, including trombone, trumpet, and two saxophones, which made for a fantastic show.

For those of you who haven't discovered Blue Rodeo yet, run, don't walk to their next live performance. If that's not an option, pick up one of their albums. Their latest, Palace of Gold is an excellent choice. Any of their older albums are also superb, however, with Five Days In July being one of my favourites.

Also, for your listening pleasure:

I apologize to all French speakers for what is going to be broadcast on Radio Canada tonight. Despite my most earnest efforts, I neatly butchered the French language while trying to explain the project I'm working on.

Just when I thought I was going to escape the press conference without having to open my mouth, the guy from Radio Canada asked if I could explain some aspects of the project in French. I was certainly pleased to be given the chance to speak French, if only to have a Francophone patiently listen to unintelligible words tumble from my mouth while appearing interested. He was even kind enough to coach me so that I might translate my more coherent English into something that vaguely sounds like French.

I would like to apologize to my high school French teacher, who did everything she could to insert some French into my reluctant teenage brain. I would also like to apologize to the Francophones who will be listening to the news tonight and wondering, "What the hell language was that???". Or rather,

"Quelle language etait-ça????"

The word of the day is asshat.

Thank you.

I love streaming video animal cams. In a perfect world, I would have streaming video cams so I could watch my pets while I was at work. :D

And so, it begins.

I'm sitting at 0 words right now. I have to write 1667 words per day to reach 50,000 words by November 30. If I succeed, this will prove that the impossible has become possible, and I encourage you all to start winning the lottery and leaping off of buildings with notebooks in each hand for gliding.

Following my first novel, I will discover cold fusion.

Disclaimer: I seriously advise against jumping off of buildings, so don't blame me when you win next year's Darwin Award.
