Things filed under the chaps my hide category:

Urban Outfitters can eat my ass

Details can also eat my ass

If being an Asian man makes one gay, then gay men are the LUCKIEST FUCKING BASTARDS ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH. Apparently my tastes run contrary to the mainstream knuckle-dragging ape-man type that women seem to be expected to go for.

I'm pretty sure Whitney McNally has to pay for sex.

Assholes.

Sometimes life is just so fucking amazing that all you can say is . . . . wow.

To a certain special someone . . .

It's been a rough day, but you aren't alone. You are thought of, fondly, and often. I know things are hard right now, but you are loved. So very loved.

It's not even 8am, and already I sense that today is going to be a seppuku kind of day.

If anyone hears something that sounds like the shrieking of an 8 year-old girl, that will be Forever North finding the plastic spider I put in his muffin bag.

Life lesson #54980943:

Before you go dismantling a several thousand dollar piece of equipment that doesn't belong to you to try and clean a filter, you might want to read the manual.

Thanks to F-No for making life unboring.

You can pick your friends,

but you can't pick your family.

Fucking SHAME that is. But you can pick your nose.

Brace yourself, brain fart coming on . . .

So it hit me, while I was riding in the car fighting off sickness-induced fatigue, that there is a category of movies that I haven't yet heard anyone describe.

Obviously, Lost In Translation is the first one that comes to mind. But then there's others:

About Schmidt

Punch Drunk Love

The Good Girl

Ghost World

The Royal Tenenbaums

Songs From the Second Floor

So what is the common thread here? They are all very different sorts of movies, all with very different sorts of characters in very different sorts of circumstances. But they all capture the mundane somehow. They all also seem to tell stories without expecting the audience to have a specified reaction to them.

Perhaps they're comedies of the ordinary? Informal comedies? Indifferent comedies? I don't even know if all of those movies would fit the category, or if I've missed some. But there's a commonality I haven't quite found a way to articulate.

Clicking wildly while trying to listen to/organize your computer's music collection, view your Amazon recommendations and look up books you might like to borrow from the public library, all at the same time, can be hazardous to your health.

I think I short-circuited something in my brain.

Still sick.

Still not king.

I am currently revelling in what appears to be the head cold from hell. I think I even managed to infect a friend of mine. Joy.

I would very much like this to be over with already. Drowning in my own mucus is getting rather tiresome, and the cats want nothing to do with my violent sneezing.

Being sick sucks.
