These women don’t scare you, the image presented to you by the documentary makers scares you.
I’ve heard the women in the documentary were not happy at all about how they were portrayed.
That’s fair, but were these women misquoted in the article? I didn’t see the documentary itself, it was what was quoted in the article that I found particularly alarming.
The idea that pumping your own gas is “unladylike” sounds utterly ridiculous when it’s almost impossible to find a self-serve gas station in the city I live in. Am I supposed to abandon my car on the side of the road when it runs out of gas and call my boyfriend to come and put gas in my car?
That’s just one of several points that I found really backwards in the article. I really do hope they were misquoted.
