Can you hear THIS?

I am overjoyed to discover that I am missing a good chunk of my hearing range. Nothing past 17 kHz. Old age is going to be fun. My deceased deaf great-grandmother and my hearing-impaired father will be so proud.

But Can You Hear THIS?

Update: These cost a whopping $12? Where were these when I couldn’t find an earplug to save my life? Why don’t they sell these EVERYWHERE????

I can kind of hear the tones above 18 kHz, but it’s more of a feeling that something’s playing, so not sure if that counts. Except for 21 kHz, which seems normal, which is weird.

I have those earplugs, but generally I forget to bring them or am embarrassed to put them in. But I really should…

Fuck embarrassment, you can laugh at all the too-cool-for-school hipsters when they can’t hear you insulting them. I’ve worn earplugs for 75% of the shows I’ve been to, but the 25% that I didn’t were apparently enough to wreck my hearing. Save what you’ve got left, and make sure you speak slowly to me so I can read your lips.
