Hooker Painting Her Toenails
I am a great fan of street photography. I think many powerful and moving images have been taken on the street. But this one gives me pause.
The photo itself I have no objections to. I think it’s interesting and it tells a story. The bit I can’t quite wrap my head around is posting it in Flickr humour pools. That, and going on for paragraph after paragraph making derisive comments about prostitutes and the people who try to help them, not to mention using a 200mm zoom lens to take the picture from across the street.
Prostitution is a dangerous profession, and the Pickton trial in Vancouver has done a great deal to highlight this fact. I hardly think that these women are deserving of ridicule for what they do.
Jesse and the opening guy whose name I didn’t catch
It’s up, by golly. I do eventually get around to these things.
And damn if I’m not in love with using an SLR. I’m stealing the D70. Shhh.
Out!
It was so so very good, but I’m sure that’s a surprise to no one. Dietzche V. & the Abominable Snowman was also fantastic. Perhaps I might be able to wrestle some of my film shots of them and be able to post them for you. In the meantime, enjoy what’s in my Flickr album.
And, of course, vids!

Update: lost the videos when my laptop was stolen. ~sob~
Chris, the peachy keen fella over at Daily@2708, posted a pic I took some years back for his guest week. The pic is of a cat I had a few years back named Yuki. Yuki will always be very special to me, and I’m glad that I can share this tribute to him.
Prepare, also, to be dazzled and amazed by the other guest photographers on his photoblog. They’re a talented bunch of folks! I’m glad that I was able to find a pic that would allow me to join such an illustrious group
Go forth and behold the eye candy that awaits!
